Open Meetings Act (OMA) Training

Public Act 1000-1127 authorizes the IAFPD to provide the training required by Section 1.05 of the Open Meetings Act for all trustees of fire protection districts. David Livingstone will present an OMA program that is tailored more specifically for fire districts and serves as an alternative to the existing online training through the Illinois Attorney General’s website.
Program participants can expect:
David Livingstone received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science, and Public Administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. He is a 2016 graduate of St. Louis University School of Law, concentrating in Civil Litigation. He spent several years as a partner attorney at Stobbs, Sinclair & Livingstone, LTD in Alton, Illinois, where he served and represented individuals in various legal matters, local small businesses, and local units of government, including fire protection districts. Mr. Livingstone is now the Chief of the Civil Division at the State’s Attorney’s Office in Madison County. He remains a valued supporter of IAFPD and Illinois fire protection districts, presenting at conferences and sessions throughout the year.
EVENT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by no later than July 5, 2024.
This program will fulfill 2 hours of Continued Education (CE) for those who have completed the 12-hour Essential Trustee Training (ETT) program. THIS TRAINING DOES NOT FULFILL ANY PART OF THE 12-HOUR ETT PROGRAM
This program is only available in a LIVE video conference format via the Zoom platform. It will not be offered "on demand". To be eligible for a certificate, attendees must be present for the entire program.
